Barina Quarry Recommencement and Modification

Irwin Environmental has been engaged to support the recommencement and modification of operations at Barina Quarry. Our role has been multi-faceted including:

  • engagement with the NSW Department of Housing, Planning and Infrastructure, local Councils and other government regulators
  • scoping and management of specialist environmental studies such as biodiversity, cultural heritage, noise, air quality, water and traffic, and
  • preparation of a Scoping Report and Modification Report to support the application

Irwin Environmental is also supporting Collector Resources with the following environmental requirements relevant to the proposed recommencement of operations:

  • preparation of updated environmental management documentation
  • preparation of an Independent Environmntal Audit
  • environmental monitoring and annual reporting
  • negotiation of a Voluntary Planning Agreement with the local Council’s, and
  • collation of materials to support an application for mining lease.

The project focused on aligning operational changes with best practice environmental management and securing ongoing approval pathways.
