Barina Quarry Recommencement and Modification
Irwin Environmental has been engaged to support the recommencement and modification of operations at Barina Quarry. Our role has been multi-faceted including:
- engagement with the NSW Department of Housing, Planning and Infrastructure, local Councils and other government regulators
- scoping and management of specialist environmental studies such as biodiversity, cultural heritage, noise, air quality, water and traffic, and
- preparation of a Scoping Report and Modification Report to support the application
Irwin Environmental is also supporting Collector Resources with the following environmental requirements relevant to the proposed recommencement of operations:
- preparation of updated environmental management documentation
- preparation of an Independent Environmntal Audit
- environmental monitoring and annual reporting
- negotiation of a Voluntary Planning Agreement with the local Council’s, and
- collation of materials to support an application for mining lease.
The project focused on aligning operational changes with best practice environmental management and securing ongoing approval pathways.
